MEMPHIS – Booneville, Miss., resident Asya Branch made history - only 130 miles from home - a second time Nov. 9 by becoming the first Miss Mississippi USA titleholder to earn the Miss USA crown during competition in Memphis at Graceland. Last year, Branch was the first Africa-American woman to win Miss Mississippi USA. A year later, she made the Miss USA stage. In an interview with the Daily Journal, Branch discussed her dream of being the first Mississippi titleholder to win Miss USA.
