Matthew Block, who was Gov. John Bel Edwards’ right-hand man and top lawyer until October 2022, has joined Ochsner Health in the newly created position of executive VP and chief administrative officer. After working with the governor, he returned to private law practice in Thibodaux. When Edwards expanded Medicaid on his first day as governor in 2016, Block helped craft the details. Block is also no stranger to Ochsner. Since returning to private practice, he has counted the health system among his clients. In his new position, Block will be in charge of government relations, coordinating with Ochsner’s team of external lobbyists and consultants. He’ll also oversee community affairs, philanthropy, internal audit, real estate, compliance, and security and emergency preparedness.
HII awarded DDG 1000 moderrization project HII (NYSE: HII) has received a $66.7 million cost-plus-incentive-fee contract modification from the U.S. Navy for the DDG 1000 Modernization Period execution. The majority or 95 percent of contract work will be conducted by the shipbuilder at its Pascagoula, Mississippi, location until September 2025. |
