Natchez (Miss.) High School was closed early Feb. 8 after an anonymous caller threatened to detonate a bomb at the school. Police Chief Joseph Daughtry said the investigation of the threat was passed to the Department of Homeland Security. Natchez-Adams School District Public Engagement Coordinator Tony Fields said in an e-mail Tuesday that the entire campus was evacuated for the remainder of the day. An anonymous reward of $500 is being offered for information via “Crime Stoppers” that leads to the arrest/conviction of the person responsible, Fields told the Daily Journal. All students and faculty were safely evacuated to safety, and afterwards, law enforcement began a search of the building. Anyone with information about the threat can contact Crime Stoppers toll-free at (888) 442-5001. (Source: Mississippi Live 02/08/22)
