BILOXI, Miss. - On Feb. 13, the city of Biloxi will unveil a statue of native son, and Apollo 13 astronaut, Fred Haise. In the interim, preparations are ongoing. Artist Lucinda L’Enfant is creating the “Moon Walk” mural leading up to the monument near the Biloxi Lighthouse. “I’ve had terrible luck,” she said. There’s been bad weather and supply issues. “I’m absolutely feeling the Apollo 13 curse,” she told WLOX. The Haise statue was made by Mary Ott Tremmel Davidson. The unveiling will be at 1:13 p.m. south of the Biloxi Lighthouse. (Source: WLOX 02/06/22) Biloxi prepares to unveil statue of hometown hero Fred Haise (wlox.com)
