DoD deputy meets with industry

Kathleen Hicks, deputy secretary of the Department of Defense, spoke with eight large prime contractors to discuss priorities for DoD and the business challenges facing the industry. She met with leaders from HII (formerly Huntington Ingalls), BAE Systems, Boeing, General Dynamics, L3Harris Technologies, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman and Raytheon Technologies following a classified meeting. The National Defense Strategy was a key topic of the meeting. Contractor representatives also shared thoughts with DoD officials regarding the health of the defense industrial base, workforce and supply chain. “We’re continuing to meet and talk with industry about the issues that affect us all – to include securing our supply chains & working together to solve workforce challenges across the defense ecosystem,” Hicks wrote in a Twitter post.
