Louis V. Marchette, 68, of Long Beach, Miss., passed away following a short battle with pancreatic cancer on May 27. Retired Capt. Marchette was a former commanding officer of Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfuport, Miss. The Navy Civilil Engineer Corps officer also lead Seasbees with NMCBs 40, 74, 1, and 20th Naval Construction Regiment. There will be a memorial service June 3 in Long Beach.
