NEW ORLEANS - A Coast Guard response boat crews rescued a capsized kayaker on June 9 near Lake Pontchartrain, north of New Orleans. The kayaker was wearing a life jacket and had no reported injuries. The CG recived a report about 2 p.m. from a train operator who was traveling on a railway adjacent to Irish Bayou. The operator reported the capsized kayak and a person was in the water and appeared to be in distress. He was safely transferred to shore. (Source: Coast Guard 06/09/21)
