Fortson takes lead at 403rd MG

KEESLER AFB, Miss. - Lt. Col. Steven W. Fortson took command of the AF reserves' 403rd Maintenance Group during an assumption of command ceremony here Oct. 4. Fortson began his officer career as a logistics officer, and has two tours of duty at Air Force Reserve Command HQ. The 403rd Maintenance Group’s mission is to maintain the fleet health for the 403rd Wing’s 10 C-130J Super Hercules aircraft in support of tactical airlift missions and the 10 WC-130J Super Hercules aircraft for the only Department of Defense aerial weather reconnaissance mission (Hurricane Hunters). The group also provides comprehensive logistical support to assigned units by analyzing requirements and estimating capabilities in order to ensure combat readiness. (Source: Keesler AFB 10/06/20)
