NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard rescued a woman after her sailing vessel ran aground on Oct. 11 near Pascagoula, Miss. CG Sector Mobile (Ala.) heard a distress call over VHF-FM channel 16 at about 9 p.m. that the vessel was aground on Petit Bois Island. CG Station Pascagoula, Miss., launched a 45-foot Response Boat boat crew, a CG Air Station New Orleans MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew, and a Mississippi Department of Marine Services shoreside unit to assist. The helicopter was first on scene and safely hoisted the woman aboard. She was transferred to Gulfport Memorial Hospital in reportedly good condition. (Source: Coast Guard 10/11/21)
