NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard, local law enforcement and multiple good Samaritan vessels are searching for a 60-year-old man who fell into the water at Gnots Reserve Fleeting and Towing on Aug. 4 up-river from New Orleans near mile marker 119 on the Lower Mississippi River. The CG received notification from St. Charles Parish stating the man reportedly lost his balance reaching for an object and fell in the water. The CG has closed the Lower Mississippi River from mile marker 116 to 120. While the search continues. (Source: Coast Guard 08/05/21).
UPDATE: The Coast Guard suspended its search Aug. 5 for a 60-year old man who fell in the water near mile marker 119 on the Lower Mississippi River. The Coast Guard searched for a total of 36 hours over 26 square nautical miles on the Mississippi River but were unable to locate the man. (Source: Coast Guard 08/05/21)
