EOD team destroys 2nd ordnance

JONES COUNTY, Miss. - Jones County deputies responded to the same recycling facility where a Laurel man died in an explosion Aug. 4. A second military ordnance round was found Aug. 6 at Jarrell Recycling near Moselle. They are working to evacuate an area along Job R. Lane. Investigators, along with federal and state agents, believe the earlier explosion was caused by a round of military ordnance from an unknown source. It’s not known how or when the ordnance made its way to the recycling yard.
