The first TH-73A training helicopter arrived Aug. 6 at NAS Whiting Field, Fla. The new undergraduate training helos are for Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard aviators, and eventually will replace the current TH-57 fleet. The helicopter made a two-day transit to NASWF from the Leonardo Helicopters facility in Philadelphia, where the aircraft is being manufactured. Leonardo is contracted to deliver 31 TH-73 "Thrashers" by the end of 2021. They will manufacture 130 through 2024 before the TH-57’s scheduled sundown in 2025.
