Fishery council seeks applicants

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is seeking applicants for an Ad Hoc Charter For-Hire Data Collection Advisory Panel. 

The panel is charged with providing Gulf-wide stakeholder insight on the development of a new electronic data collection program - Southeast For-Hire Integrated Electronic Reporting (SEFHIER) - for the charter for-hire and headboat fishing industry.  

Panel members will be appointed to serve until work on the issue is complete. Members of the panel will be appointed at the Council’s discretion. The Council will perform fishery violations background checks on applicants and is expected to populate the Panel during its October 2023 meeting.
