GULFPORT, Miss. - The Coast Guard rescued a dog and seven people from a boat that caught fire near Gulfport on May 21. A mayday call from the boat was sent around 9:30 a.m. An aircrew was dispatched to the vessel's location and deployed a life raft. A CG boat crew later retrieve the boaters and dog on this first day of National Safe Boating Week. The boaters were last reported to be in stable condition. (Source: WLOX 05/22/22)
