WASHINGTON - Seven U.S. military installations, including Naval Support Activity (NSA) Millington, Tenn., have reinstated travel restrictions for personnel this week as the result of COVID-19 in those areas, according to a Pentagon document released Nov. 12. Those seven is the highest number since mid-August. Other bases include: Grand Forks and Minot Air Force Bases in North Dakota, Kirtland (N.M.) AFB, McConnell AFB, Kansas, and NAS Sigonella and Naval Support Activity both in Italy. As of Nov. 9, 147 of 231 installations (about 64%) have lifted travel restrictions. Some bases have had to bounce back and forth between lifting restrictions and then putting them back due to health conditions in their areas. Since earlier this year, base restrictions have impacted military service members, and their families, change of station moves causing backlogs.
