The Gulf of Mexico Climate and Resilience Community of Practice (CoP) doles out an annual award recognizing an individual who has done a great job of communicating climate challenges in the Gulf Region. This year, the CoP announced this year’s individual winner is Mike Shelton, the coastal training/watershed program coordinator at Weeks Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR). Shelton is exceptionally deserving of the Spirit of Community Award. Through his position at the Weeks Bay (Ala.) NERR, he has developed a dynami0c program that meets coastal decision-makers’ needs with relevant and practical approaches. (Source: Miss.-Ala.
