The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Maritime Administration (Marad) announced March 3 the availability of $25M in funding for America’s Marine Highway Program (AMHP). AMHP supports development and expanded use of U.S. navigable waterways to improve America's supply chains and the movement of goods throughout the country. These new resources represent the largest single appropriation of funding ever provided to AMHP and were made possible by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which will make a $1.2T investment in U.S. infrastructure. The funding will expand waterborne transportation options while helping project sponsors increase energy conservation, improve safety, reduce landside infrastructure costs, and reduce travel delays caused by congestion. To be eligible for a grant award, a project must have previously been designated as a Marine Highway Project by the Department of Transportation. For more information on the eligible projects, please visit here. Applications for the grants are due on April 29, 2022, by 4 p.m. CST. Additional information is available here.
