The Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division’s office in New Orleans is offering online compliance assistance training March 17 on the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act to Louisiana's Acadiana regional employers in the logistics, warehousing and transportation industries. The presentation will review employment relationship, hours worked, overtime obligations and regular rate of pay calculations. Representatives from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will provide information on the industries’ local labor market conditions. The event will allow the DoL to provide compliance assistance to employers in logistics, warehousing and transportation industries,” said Wage and Hour District Director Troy Mouton. “Working together with One Acadiana, ... is helping employers understand their legal obligations in support of its mission to promote and achieve compliance with labor standards to protect and enhance the welfare of the nation’s workforce.”(Source: Dept of Labor 03/08/22) Attendance is free, but registration is required.
