Saylor Wheel, a tire and steel wheel manufacturer, plans to establish manufacturing operations in Greenwood, Miss., with a $23.4M investment project is expected to create 145 jobs.
The new facility will manufacture tire and steel wheel assemblies for the trailer industry.
The investment includes the purchase and rehabilitation of an existing building and the purchasing of manufacturing and non-manufacturing equipment.
“Two words come to mind regarding the start of Saylor Wheel: Gratitude and teamwork," said David Saylor, president of Saylor Wheel.
The teamwork came from the Delta Council, Economic Development Foundation, Greenwood, Leflore County, Mississippi, USDA, community development entities and investors.
"My gratitude for their help exceeds my reach for words, " he continued. "Now is the time to make wheels in the Delta.”
The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance in support of the project through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive. Leflore and Greenwood also are assisting with the project. (Area Development 05/20/23)
