Cherokee MS casino; C&W ops

Cherokee Nation staked a claim on the casino industry outside of Oklahoma after acquiring the Gold Strike Casino and Resort in Tunica, Miss., for about $450M cash. The tribes' indirect subsidiary, CNE Gaming Holdings, assumed operations of the casino after final approval of the Mississippi Gaming Commission. CNE purchased the facility’s operating company from Mandalay Resort Group, a subsidiary of MGM Resorts International. C&W expanding ops in Alcorn County

C&W Companies, one of the largest contract embroidery and screen print firms in the U.S., is expanding its embroidery operations in Alcorn County, Mississippi. The $2.4M million project is expected to create 32 jobs. The company will construct an approximately 15,000-square-foot building at its current location, in Rienzi, renovating existing buildings and investing in new equipment.
