Mike Rowe, star of Discovery’s ‘Dirty Jobs’ series, will try his hand at shipbuilding at Coden, Ala.-based Master Boat Builders Inc. to explore what it takes to build workboats. The feature will highlight tugboats, one of Master Boat Builders’ specialties. “The shipbuilding industry plays a vital role in the Gulf Coast’s economy," said Garrett Rice, president of Master Boat Builders. "Right now, in our shipyard alone, we have dozens of opportunities open from ship-fitters to project engineers and many exciting opportunities in between, and our industry is ready to hire the next generation of the shipbuilding workforce.” The episode will air on Discovery and discovery+ at 7 p.m. CT on Jan. 16.
