Port of New Orleans Cargo Operations will be closed Monday, Aug. 24 for necessary precautions ahead of potential impacts from Hurricane Marco and Tropical Storm Laura. Container terminal operations at New Orleans Terminal and Ports America will also be closed. Breakbulk operations will close at Empire, Coastal Cargo and Ports America. Decisions about Tuesday operations will be made and communicated later in the day on Monday. Effective at 10 p.m. Sunday, the Coast Guard will set the Port Condition to Zulu and the Lower Mississippi River will be closed to all marine traffic with the exception of fleet boats working barge fleets and vessel movements specifically authorized by the USCG Captain of the Port.
