Elective mil.med surgeries on hold

The military health care system is putting a pause on non-emergency surgeries and dental procedures on March 31, according to a March 24 memo from the assistant defense secretary for health affairs, in efforts to shore up capacity for the Defense Department’s rise in coronavirus cases. Exceptions would include surgeries or procedures that keep active duty troops, or reserve component troops on active orders, deployable, the memo read.
