NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medevaced two boaters Aug. 10 from a construction vessel about 20 miles south of Atchafalaya Bay, La. The CG received a medevac request at 11 a.m. from the emergency medical technician aboard the vessel for a passenger experiencing heart related issues. The CG coordinated the launch of a New Orleans-based MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew, which hoisted the boaters aboard and transferred them to awaiting emergency medical services personnel at the University Medical Center in New Orleans.
