GULFPORT, Miss. - While South Mississippi might have been spared from Nov. 29's severe weather, its Alabama neighbors had a different experience. Mississippi Power is stepping in to help by sending a team of 75 linemen, engineers and support personnel that left for Alabama Nov. 30 to assist Alabama Power. The storm spawned a possible tornado near Bassfield and produced heavy winds, rain and hail across the AP's service area. The heaviest damage in Mississippi was in the NE, where a tornado caused damage in the Golden Triangle region. Mississippi Power's team from the Gulf Coast will assist in the Mobile area while teams from the Pine Belt and Meridian areas are headed to Tuscaloosa and Eutaw. (WLOX 11/30/22)
