WASHINGTON, D.C. - A nationwide study of colleges and universities found that three of Mississippi’s private schools - Mississippi College, William Carey and Milsaps - were the three best institutions of higher learning in the state. The trio were ranked 1-2-3 in the study, compiled by financial site WalletHub. Mississippi State University and the University of Mississippi were the top two public schools, ranking 4th and 5th, respectively. The study examined data across a wide range of metrics, including student selectivity (how selective schools are in admitting students), cost & financial aid, faculty resources, campus safety, campus experience, educational outcomes, and career outcomes.
