Blues home March 30; Star* F/A-18
The Navy's Blue Angels will likely be making a return, from winter training in California, to its show-season home at NAS Pensacola, Fla., on March 30. The first practice shows at NASP will take place March 31 and April 1. It will become part of the Blue Angels fleet for the 2021 season. Tom Cruise didn't fly the aircraft (#165536), but it is currently being refurbished at NAS Jacksonville, Fla. Over the next year, the Blues will make the first aircraft transition in 30 years, when they move to Super Hornets. When completed, a fleet of 18 Super Hornets, including the one making a cameo in the movie, will be ready to fly for the 2021 season.
