Virus: Online courses vs VA benes

Colleges and universities across America are taking precautions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus by canceling graduation ceremonies or replacing all classroom sessions with online courses. How will the GI Bill benefits be affected by the changes? You may end up losing money and owing. Based on recent information posted to the VA's GI Bill Facebook page here is the current situation. VA says that if your school closes due to an emergency or disaster, GI Bill payments will continue through the end of the term or up to four weeks from the date of closure, whichever is earlier. Housing allowances will continue for up to four weeks, if your school closes temporarily. After that, any additional payments will require legislative action or executive order. If a school cancels classroom sessions and replaces them with online classes what happens to the GI Bill? VA says if change from classroom to online-only and have been approved for online instruction, nothing changes. If the program has not been approved for online sessions, payments will stop on the day you switch from classroom to online training.
