Ingalls delivers 10th NSC to CG

PASCAGOULA, Miss. - HII’s Ingalls Shipbuilding division delivered the national security cutter Calhoun (WMSL 759) to the Coast Guard on Oct. 13. Delivery documents signed mark the official transfer of the ship from HII to the CG.

Ingalls has now delivered 10 Legend-class NSCs to the Coast Guard.

For over 20 years, Ingalls has designed and built Legend-class NSCs.

NSC 10 is named to honor Charles L. Calhoun, the first master chief petty officer of the Coast Guard. Calhoun served in the Navy for three years during WWII as a torpedoman’s mate petty officer.

He enlisted in the Coast Guard that same year. (HII 10/13/23) https://hii.com/what-we-do/capabilities/national-security-cutters/.
