Fed public meetings on Gulf O&G

As part of the effort to prepare a Draft Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) will holding two public meetings to get feedback on potential impacts of oil and gas activities on the Gulf of Mexico Outer Continental Shelf (OCS). 

The Department of Interior announced the National OCS Oil and Gas Leasing Proposed Final Program on Sept. 29, and it includes proposed oil and gas lease sales in the Gulf of Mexico. 

During the two public meetings, more will be learned about the environmental review process and the public will have an opportunity to ask questions and provide comments to be used in the preparation of the draft EIS. 

The virtual meetings will be held on: October 17, 2023, at 6:00 pm CDT  and October 19, 2023, at 1:00 pm CDTMore information on the public scoping meetings can be found here

Ford recall on 238K Explorers

DETROIT - Ford is recalling more than 238,000 Explorers in the U.S. because a rear axle bolt can fail, potentially causing a loss of drive power or allowing the SUVs to roll away while in park. The recall comes after U.S. safety regulators opened an investigation into the problem after getting two complaints that repairs didn’t work in two previous recalls this year and in 2022.
