Jones selected to join La.'s C100

BATON ROUGE, La. - The Committee of 100 (C100) for Economic Development has selected Beaux Jones of The Water Institute for membership in 2023. 

Jones is the Acting President and CEO for The Water Institute.

Prior to becoming the acting president/CEO, Jones was the General Counsel and Chief of Staff at The Water Institute where he handled a wide array of non-profit management and legal matters, such as contracts and immigration law.

He also was a key member of the leadership team, merging the Institute’s ongoing work in science, engineering, and resiliency with legal policy. 

Before joining The Water Institute in 2019, Jones was an environmental and coastal lawyer for the law firm Baldwin Haspel Burke & Mayer in New Orleans.

He previously served as the environmental section chief for the Louisiana Department of Justice, where he represented Louisiana and its agencies in a wide variety of matters ranging from environmental and coastal law to criminal and appellate law.

Jones has extensive experience with non-profit management and representing agencies, companies and organizations within the organization and inside the courtroom. 

Jones earned his bachelor’s degree from Davidson College and law degree from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU. 

Background: C100 serves as Louisiana’s Business Roundtable. It is a private non-profit organization created in 1992 to provide leadership and resources to bring about positive change in government, education and the economy for Louisiana. The C100 is a non-government organization supported by leading business leaders in the state and dedicated to its long-term economic growth.

The Water Institute is an independent, non-profit applied research organization that works across disciplines to advance science and develop integrated methods used to solve complex environmental and societal challenges.
