In a voice vote on Aug. 7, the U.S. Senate confirmed White House nominee Carlos Del Toro to become Secretary of the Navy. Del Toro, a former surface warfare officer that served 22 years in the Navy, is the final Pentagon service secretary to be confirmed. The Cuban-born Naval Academy graduate later served as a DoD civilian, and as head of a Virginia information technology firm - SBG Technology Solutions.
