BILOXI, Miss. - The Gulf Coast Veterans Health Care System (GCVHCS) announced Aug. 17 that Michael D. Payne Jr., is its new Associate Medical Center Director. Payne assumed oversight of the Biloxi VA Medical Center’s Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Police, Medical Media, Vet Center, Biloxi Canteen, Fiscal, Human Resource Management and Environmental Management services. Payne will also have oversight of Information Security, Privacy, and the Office of Information Technology operations. He was previously with the South Texas Veterans Healthcare System in San Antonio; but most recently came to Biloxi from serving as interim Associate Director of the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System from September 2019 until March 2020. The Biloxi VA medical center, along with Mobile, Ala.; Pensacola, Eglin and Panama City, Fla., clinics are all part of the GCVHCS.
