La. legislature has a full plate

The Louisiana Legislature convenes in special session Jan. 15 to redraw election districts for the U.S. House and state Supreme Court, and to consider changing how the court’s chief justice is chosen and switching from open primary elections to party primaries. Jefferson Parish sees drop crime in all areas save one 

Unincorporated Jefferson Parish, La., saw an 11% drop in major crime in 2023, mirroring a trend seen across America. The Sheriff’s Office reported a decline in every category of crime except one. (NOLA.com 01/14/24)
