'Runnin' Roos' on deployments

On August 12, 1966, Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 133 - "The Runnin' Roos' (as in Kangaroos) was re-commissioned in ceremonies aboard the Naval Construction Battalion Center in Gulfport, Miss. NMCB 133 has played a vital role within the Naval Construction Force (NCF) from the Vietnam War to Operation Iraqi Freedom. NMCB 133 has also provided humanitarian assistance around the world. The battalions contributions within the NCF has earned numerous Atlantic Fleet Best of Type Battle “E” awards. NMCB 133 continues to provide an adaptive and scalable NCF ready and capable of executing quality construction in combat or in support of civic action, humanitarian assistance, or disaster recovery.

This month, detachments of the 'Runnin' Roos' have been deployed.

*Navy sailors assigned to NMCB 133's Runnin' Roos participate in an airfield damage repair evolution at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam in support of Valiant Shield 2022.

*America's Battalion (NMCB 133) in Croatia working hard on a Contingency Medical Facility.

*NMCB 133 is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe area of operations, employed by U.S. Sixth Fleet, to defend U.S., allied, and partner interests.
