Endeavor's splashdown in GoM

The SpaceX Crew Dragon Endeavor and 4-person crew safely landed in the smooth waters of the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Pensacola, Fla., around 9:55 p.m. Monday. It created a ball of fire minutes that lit up skies from approach of New Orleans to splashdown in NW Florida. The crew consisted of astronauts Shane Kimbrough and Megan McArthur, JAXA (Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency) astronaut Akihiko Hoshide, and ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Thomas Pesquet. The crew had been in space for 199 days. WEAR TV 11/08/21) Splashdown successful off Pensacola Monday night | WEAR (weartv.com)

** NEW ORLEANS - It was a treat in metro New Orleans’ skies as the SpaceX Dragon was visible speeding across the skyline before splashdown south of Pensacola, Fla. People used their own eyes to see what appeared to be like a shooting star. "How cool is this," asked WWL-TV Chief Meteorologist Chris Franklin who climbed up to the top of the station’s roof to watch and broadcast live on social media. “Oh my goodness. I am a 40-year-old science nerd," said Franklin during the station’s broadcast. "We could not have had a better night." (Source: WWL-TV)
