Meridian's first AA judge

MERIDIAN, Miss. - Dennis Markham, Meridian’s first African-American judge, was sworn into the office of municipal court judge July 16. Markham replaces judge Robbie Jones. Markham, a Ward 2 city councilman for one term, has his own law practice. Markham says he wants the court system to be more empathetic to its citizens.
