India group meets w/ MS leaders

A delegation of board members from the Indian American International Chamber of Commerce (IAICC) recently met April 14-16 with Consul General of India Dr. Swati Vijay Kulkarni, as well as a group of Mississippi leaders to talk about economic development in the Magnolia State. Among those meeting included Gov. Tate Reeves, U.S. Sens. Cindy Hyde-Smith and Roger Wicker, and other officials from across the state. President/CEO K.V. Kumar was lead for the IAICC. The delegation visited Port Gibson on April 14 to consider an economic development project. The delegation met with Claiborne County officials to discuss details. On April 15, the group met Mayor Dan Gibson of Natchez. On April 16, they met with Gov. Reeves. The delegation also had meetings with Sen. Hyde-Smith, Brookhaven Mayor Joe Cox, Commissioner of Agriculture & Commerce Andy Gipson, and Executive Director of MDA John Rounsaville, to discuss a number of strategies to improve trade relations between Mississippi and India.
