PENSACOLA, Fla. - Chief of Naval Air Training Rear Adm. Robert Westendorff announced April 5, at a small ceremony here at the National Naval Aviation Museum, that Navy officials have selected Cmdr. Alex “Scribe” Armatas to be the commanding officer of the Blue Angels Flight Demonstration Team for the 2023-24 show seasons. The change of command will occur in November after the final 2022 show in Pensacola, and he will lead the team through winter training into March in California.
