Ellisville jet engine coatings plant
GE Aviation and Praxair Inc. have opened a new facility in Ellisville, Miss., for its PG Technologies business, which specializes in advanced coatings enabling jet engines to withstand higher temperatures and stresses. PGT is a joint venture between Praxair Surface Technolies, Inc. and GE Aviation, which focuses on development, support, and application of specialized coatings tailored for GEA's current/future engine platforms. PGT is headquartered in Indianapolis, Ind. The 300,000 square foot facility is expected to employ at least 250 workers to meet demand for GE’s latest generation of jet engines, such as the GE9X and the CFM LEAP - a 50/50 joint venture between GEA and Safran of France.
