La. 'Gator' float in Macy's parade

Louisiana's alligator-shaped float, named the "Celebration Gator," will be making its third appearance in Macy's 97th Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.

Three Louisiana musicians will be participating in the parade this year: Amanda Shaw, a Cajun fiddler from Mandeville, and Alex Smith, a country singer from Alexandria, will represent the state on the gator float. Jon Batiste will also perform with the parade.

The parade kicks off at 9 a.m. and runs until noon on NBC.

The 60-foot "Celebration Gator" is the longest float in the parade. Louisiana officials spent $1.375M to have the float placed in the parade for three years. (NOLA.com 11/22/23) How to watch Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade from Louisiana | Entertainment/Life | nola.com
