CG medevacs cruise passenger

NEW ORLEANS - The Coast Guard medevaced a 67-year-old woman from a cruise ship about 95 miles south of Southwest Pass, La., on Sept. 10. Coast Guard Sector New Orleans got a call about 1:30 p.m. from the ship's doctor that a passenger was experiencing unexplained seizures. The CG launched an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter aircrew. The aircrew hoisted the woman, portable manual ventilator and a ship's nurse onboard, and transported all to West Jefferson Hospital in New Orleans. The passenger was last reported in stable condition.
