MAYHEW, Miss - East Mississippi Community College has hired David Campbell to become executive director of The Communiversity and Workforce Development. Campbell assumes the post April 4 and will provide strategic direction over The Communiversity and collaborate with businesses, economic development agencies and policy makers to ensure EMCC’s workforce training meets the needs of area employers while providing students with industry-relevant training. For the past two years, he's worked as VP for Workforce Development and Career-Technical Education at St. Johns River State College in Orange Park, Fla. Campbell is a Mississippi native who calls Senatobia home. He's had nearly three decades of experience working at community colleges in the state. Prior to working at St. Johns, Campbell served as VP for Workforce Solutions and Career-Technical Education at Northwest Mississippi Community College. He earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Community College Leadership from Mississippi State University and a Master of Education in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Mississippi.
