President Trump signed into law the omnibus spending bill for FY 2021, which includes funding for four additional Sentinel-class fast response cutters (FRC) for the Coast Guard. This will permit Bollinger Shipyards in Lockport, La., to build all four, which would increase the total number of FRCs to 64. The FRC program has had a total economic impact of $1.2B since inception, and supports 650 jobs in Southeast Louisiana. (Source: Work Boat 01/05/21)
