6 potential Lowndes investments

The Golden Triangle Development LINK will ask Lowndes County supervisors (Jan. 15) for a sewer line extension at the county's industrial park, in preparation for an automotive company to potentially make its home there, LINK CEO Joe Max Higgins said. It's one of six companies seriously considering locations in the county, with a total capital investment of $2.3B, if all six are realized, Higgins told the Columbus Rotary Club on Jan. 11. Five prospects are aiming for Lowndes County Industrial Park near the Golden Triangle Regional Airport. The sixth company is looking at the Lowndes County Port, Higgins said. Higgins described a pair of the prospects as "whales," with a capital investment of $1B; and the other with just under $900M. The automotive plant Higgins will present (Friday) is among the smaller of the prospects. (Source: The Dispatch 01/15/21)
