SSC flies away from Textron to Fla.

NEW ORLEANS - Textron Systems Corp., a Textron Inc. company, announced Sept. 9 the successful fly-away of its first two next-generation air cushion vehicles, Ship-to-Shore Connector (SSC) Craft 100 and LCAC 101 on Sept. 2. They departed Textron’s New Orleans shipyard, where they liaised with Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) 091 - built by Textron in 2000 - for the last leg of its journey to the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Panama City, Fla.
