Primary election: Need to know

JACKSON, Miss. - Mississippi's Primary Election Day is Tuesday, Aug. 8. The election, run by the Republican and Democratic parties, include statewide races, state district, county and county district offices. The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and anyone in line at 7 p.m. will be able to cast a ballot. Registered voters who are unsure about where to cast their ballots should call the county circuit clerk's office or check the secretary of state's website.
