LONDON - Vertex Aerospace of Madison, Miss., and BAE Systems have signed a nine-year agreement to enhance availability of the Marine Corps’ AV-8B Harrier II fleet, BAE officials said in a media release Jan. 12. The Navy awarded Vertex Aerospace a $123M contracted maintenance, modification, aircrew and related services (CMMARS) task order in July 2020 to provide aircraft maintenance and contractor logistics support services for the Harrier fleet. Vertex selected BAE as a subcontractor, and together, the firms will support training and combat operations conducted from Navy aircraft carriers, amphibious assault ships, and forward operating bases.
