Expanding GTRA development

Lowndes County has purchased 2,500 acres of property, dubbing it Golden Triangle Regional Global Industrial Aerospace Park, located west of the Golden Triangle Regional Airport. The property is being developed to attract future jobs in the automotive and aerospace businesses. It's an extension and rebranding of the Golden Triangle Industrial Park on the east side of the airport. The 3,500-plus acres east of the Columbus airport - third busiest in Mississippi - acquired before this last purchase already hosts heavyweight manufacturers such as Severstal and Airbus. The west-side lands are under rapid development and tentatively scheduled to be completed by late summer.
