Callan Marine, Galveston, Texas, recently launched the hull and set the house on the 290-foot cutter suction dredge General Arnold. The new dredge, which has a 32-inch dredge pipe diameter, is on schedule for launch this year and will join Callan Marine’s other CSD, General MacArthur. Callan Marine LTD is a privately-owned dredging and marine construction business. The new dredge will have a maximum digging depth of 97 feet. It is under construction at C&C Marine and Repair of Belle Chasse, La. The diesel-electric driven General Arnold will boast 24,000 hp.
